Former ETC employee recognized for her charitable work.
Long time supporters of ETC will remember Sajani Amatya. Sajani joined ETC as a volunteer in our Nepal office and eventually became the coordinator of our Private Sponsorship Program. Though she hasn't worked with ETC for several years, she continues to be an important part of the ETC family: together with Anita Mahat, Sajani is the only women's group sponsor that we have in Nepal. Currently she is the Nepal country director for Teaching and Projects Abroad, an organization that provides meaningful cultural exchange and volunteer opportunities across the world for college students from Europe and the US. She is also board president for Friends of Needy Children an organization that provides a wide range of children?s services in Nepal. (Raju Dhamala, former Senior Administrative Officer with ETC, is currently on the staff of Friends of Needy Children.)
Last year, Sajani was a recipient of an Unsung Heroes of Compassion award from His Holiness the Dalai Lama for her work helping to improve the lives of others. She was one of 48 people from around the world who were invited by the organization Wisdom in Action to receive the award in San Francisco.
Congratulations Sajani!
